Since it's inception in 1996 the Zambales Resort Owners Association has striven to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors to the Province of Zambales.
Amongst plans has been to introduce a Water Safety Management Plan, not just for the Beaches, but for the community as well.

With the Memorandum of Agreement signed early this year between the Zambales Resort Owners Association (ZROA) and Philippine Life Saving Society (PLS) this is now becoming a reality.

On October 22 2011 the FIRST ever Surf Lifesaving Aquatic Search & Rescue Instructors Training Course, was conducted at Rama International Beach Resort in Botolan Zambales.
Special Guest Trainer was Life Saving New South Wales (Australia) head of the Life Guard Training, Mr. Murray Copas who's knowledge and assistance helped make the program a huge success.

35 trainees participated, 14 from Zambales, other areas also represented included Siargao, Malaybalay City, Negros Occidental, Laguindingan, Illigan, Makati, Rizal , Quezon City and the Philippine Navy.

We sincerely thank the following for their support in making this training a success: Redondo Peninsula Energy Incorporated (RP Energy) Surf Life Saving Australia, Life Saving N.S.W. Provincial Government of Zambales, Philippine Life Saving Society, the Municipalities of Botolan, San Narciso and Subic, SBMA, PMMA, Ms. Maria Domitela Mora from the Zambales Provincial Tourism Office, Atty's Cheryll Deloso-Montalla, Jhun Edano, Conrado Fallorin, Wilfredo Pangan, Mayor Lerma Yap, Ms. Janet Soliven Municipal Tourism Officer for Botolan, Bakaysunan Beach Resort, Crystal Beach Resort, Megans Beach Resort, Palmera Garden Beach Resort and Hotel, Pundaquit Luxury Resort, Rama International Beach Resort and Sta. Cecilia Medical Center, all of which assisted with help and financial support for the program to make it a success. We deeply appreciate the assistance of all of them.

This training scheem is far superior to any other offered, it not only teaches life saving techniques, but also how to read water conditions such as "rip currents", spinal injuries, resussitation and much more.

Thanks to the kind assistance cof RP Energy and Gov. Jun Ebdane, the January training went ahead as scheduled, with 15 more Life Guards trained of which more than 50% qualified for the Bronze Medallion.

Currently we are seeting financial assistance to continue the 5 year plan currently initiated.
The next proposed course will be conducted Late February, in Zambales, venue is still to be set depending on the assistance we receive.

Updates will follow: So please check this page later.................
